Wydany w maju 1986 roku album So, okazał się być przełomem w solowej karierze byłego wokalisty Genesis. Za sprawą takich przebojów jak Sledgehammer, Big Time, Red Rain czy niezapomnianego duetu z Kate Bush Don't Give Up, odniósł spektakularny sukces komercyjny.
22 października pojawi się nie tylko nowa, zremasterowana edycja albumu, ale także wersje kolekcjonerskie. Trzy płytowa wersja Special Edition, przyniesie nie tylko materiał studyjny, ale także zapis występu Petera Gabriela w 1987 roku w Antenach (koncert w przeszłości był udokumentowany na kasecie VHS POV). Największą gadką dla fanów będzie jednak wersja Limited Edition Box Set. Tam, oprócz wspomnianych trzech dysków, znajdziemy także płytę So DNA, przedstawiającą genezę powstawania utworów, od wczesnym, luźnych pomysłów. Ponadto znajdziemy tu także występ z Aten na płycie DVD (wyreżyserowany przez Michaela Chapmana, a którego producentem wykonawczym był sam Martin Scorsese). Jakby tego było mało, będzie też płyta DVD z dokumentem Classic Album, przedstawiającym kulisy powstawania płyty. Do tego box wzbogacą dwie płyty winylowe: nowy, zrobiony specjalnie pod winyl master albumu oraz płytę przynoszącą dwa nie wydane wcześniej nagrania: Courage i Sagrada oraz alternatywną wersję Don't Give Up. Ponadto nabywcy wydawnictwa będą mogli pobrać materiał z obu płyt winylowych w postaci 24-bitowych plików. Dopełnieniem całości jest 60-stronicowy album.
